Friendship Beach
Not a beach you want to befriend.
There is no reason to visit Friendship Beach unless you live nearby, and you will take an evening stroll along the beach. Even then, the outcome depends very much on the tide. I have included the beach here because you can find it mentioned elsewhere, and I wouldn't want you to think that I neglected a fantastic beach.
Friendship Beach is on Phuket's east coast; it starts a little north of Laemka Beach then goes all the way up to Chalong Pier, which is the departure point for boat trips in Phang Nga Bay etc.
Friendship Beach is not a beach for swimming, nor is it a beach for working up a tan. At high tide, a good part of the beach has all but disappeared. At low tide, the beach can be very wide, at some places more than 100 meters (300 feet) wide.
Even though the beach is almost 4 kilometres (2½ miles) long, thus one of the longest beaches in Phuket, it is not easily accessible; not many people see that as a loss.

I have not yet written about all of the beaches; thus, there are a few inactive links on the list. Please be patient, I will get to them. The list is in geographical order, starting at the north side of Phuket, then down the west side and finally up the east side.
