Bang Tao Beach
A very long and very wide beach.
Bang Tao Beach offers a very fine sand quality and good swimming conditions; The beach is a little more than 4 kilometres (2½ miles) long and one of the longest beaches in Phuket. To the north, Bang Tao Beach joins Layan Beach; there is no natural border between the two beaches.
Even though the junta and the governor of Phuket forbade sun loungers after the coup in 2014, it is still possible to rent sun loungers several places along the beach
Behind the northern part of Bang Tao Beach, you will find an area known as Laguna. Here a number of five-star resorts are situated – and, of course, a golf course.
While the northern part of the beach often is deserted, you will find the southern part livelier. Here you will see other tourists enjoying the very wide beach with plenty of sand for romping. This part of the beach is also safer for kids as the beach does not slope much into the sea.
At the south end of Bang Tao Beach, you will find a few hotels in a much more affordable price range than the hotels in Laguna.
