Ao Yon Beach
Ao Yon Beach offers you two beaches and a view of sailboats.
Ao Yon is a bay in the south-east of Phuket; here you will find Ao Yon Beach. Actually, Ao Yon Beach consists of two beaches separated by a rocky headland and a small stream.
The photo above is from the west part of Ao Yon Beach; here, you can lie in the sand and work on a tan, or you can go for a swim. Although, neither the sand nor the water is as good as at the beaches on the west coast of Phuket. Next to the beach, there is a yacht club, so, usually, you will see sailboats in the bay.
The east part of Ao Yon Beach offers a charming view at high tide; however, the water is very shallow and thus not suitable for a swim as you can see in this photo of the beach at low tide.
Also, the sand on the east part of the beach is a bit clayey; thus, it does not invite you to lie on the beach.
Behind the west part of Ao Yon Beach, you will find the hotels Bandara Phuket Beach Resort og Bandara Villas Phuket.
GPS to the west part of Ao Yon Beach: 7.811791, 98.390182. Several private roads lead down to the beach. Some of the owners will charge you if you drive down their private road and use it to park. Instead, you can park on the main road and then walk down to the beach.
GPS to the east part of Ao Yon Beach: 7.814508, 98.394855. You can easily park on the road close behind the beach.
I have not yet written about all of the beaches; thus, there are a few inactive links on the list. Please be patient, I will get to them. The list is in geographical order, starting at the north side of Phuket, then down the west side and finally up the east side.
