Heowat Beach
(Panwa Beach)
Heowat Beach is not suitable for a swim.
There are several beaches called Panwa Beach in Phuket. Hotels all over the Panwa headland call their local beach Panwa Beach even though it may have a different name. Check out the location on a map or read my articles about the beaches on the Panwa headland: Khao Khad Beach, Ao Yon Beach, Cape Panwa Hotel Beach, and Ao Kham Beach. And, of course, this article about Heowat Beach.
Technically, Heowat Beach is a beach; although, it is neither suitable for a swim nor for lying on the beach to work on a tan. At high tide, the beach looks nice, and you can enjoy the view of the bay and the islands Koh Tapao Yai and Koh Tapao Noi. At low tide, there is not much water in the bay, as you can see in the photo above.
The luxurious five-star Pullman Phuket Panwa Beach Resort is right on the beach (behind the palm trees in the photo), but I am sure the guests prefer the pools.
GPS for Heowat Beach: 7.809310, 98.404395. You will find a small path down to the beach to the right of Pullman Phuket Panwa Beach Resort.
I have not yet written about all of the beaches; thus, there are a few inactive links on the list. Please be patient, I will get to them. The list is in geographical order, starting at the north side of Phuket, then down the west side and finally up the east side.
