TDAC: Digital Arrival Card

All foreign nationals must fill out a digital arrival form when traveling to Thailand.

You must complete an entry form before passing through the passport control in Thailand. It is equivalent to the TM6 form that was previously handed out on the plane until the old system was retired in December 2022. The replacement is a digital form called the Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC). The form must be completed online within three days prior to arrival in Thailand. You can find the form on the Thai immigration website.

Please be aware that it does not cost money to fill out the form. There are several scam sites that wants money for the form. Do not use such a site, use the link above to get to the official and free site.

The form consists of three pages. On the first page, you need to provide personal information such as name, nationality, and date of birth. On the second page, you must fill in travel details such as arrival date, flight number, purpose of stay, and where you will be staying.

Finally, on page three, you need to specify which countries you have visited within the past two weeks. The reason for this is that if you have visited countries with certain diseases, such as yellow fever, you must provide information about vaccinations or other health details and upload relevant documents.

After submitting the form, you will receive an email with a QR code. The immigration officer can see the form on their screen when your passport is scanned, so you will usually not be asked to present the QR code. However, it might be a good idea to have the QR code ready on your mobile device or printed on paper just in case — this can save some time if, for any reason, the officer wants to see it.

If you haven't filled out the form before your departure, you will have the opportunity to do so at a kiosk in Thailand before proceeding through the passport control. This is intended as a backup option for those who do not have internet access at home or for other reasons could not complete it in advance. Do not get in line at the immigration if you haven't filled out the form; if you do, the immigration officer will ask you to leave the line to go fill out the form. Use the kiosks to complete the form before joining the queue.

Using the kiosks will take longer than if you fill it out at home; thus, it's highly recommended to fill out the form in advance.

Immigration has made a video explaining how the system works.

Please note that the form must be completed upon each entry into Thailand. For example, if you take a short trip to a neighboring country, you will need to fill out the form again upon your next entry, regardless of whether you are gone for a week or just an hour.

Tips for the form

If you are traveling several people together, you can fill in all travelers at once in the form by clicking on Add Other Travellers on page three of the form. This will give you the option to reuse previously entered information about travel date, flight, etc., by selecting Same as previous Traveler on page two.

All information must be completed in English.

If you have special characters in your name, like "å", "ü" or "ø" you cannot use those characters. Enter your name as it appears at the bottom of the identification page in your passport.

When filling out certain fields, such as nationality and departure country, you can simply enter three letters to open a dropdown menu with options.

If you have a layover on the way to Thailand, specify the flight number of the last flight — meaning the flight with which you arrive in Thailand.

If you are traveling to multiple locations within Thailand, you can just enter the first destination as your address in Thailand.

One inconvenient aspect of the form is that it requires you to enter the province, district, and sub-district where you will be in Thailand. Many travelers may not know this information. A solution is to use Google to search for the hotel name, which should help you find the hotel's address, including province, district, and sub-district.

Fields marked with a red star are mandatory; the rest are optional, such as fields for departure and visa information. If you know your departure date, it’s a good idea to fill in those details, as it may help avoid questions from the passport control officers. The same applies if you have a visa.

If you do not receive an email with the QR code, check your spam folder.
